The photo shows the interior after thirty years. The original interior shows a mix of marine ply, selected hardware timbers and carpet. Two coats of matt Estapol was all that was applied. After thirty years the timbers were wiped with Penetrol. How has this been protected? The secret is in the next stage of the building process. With the interior finished, plumbed and wired and all systems were then checked, the boat was externally sprayed with expanding eurethane foam through the skeleton on to the back of the interior fittings. The foam expands through the mesh, totalling encasing the steel. When sanded back to the mesh the boat is now looking like a male mould. The ultimate solar, unsinkable dwelling can be created.
